And I’ll prove it by speeding down a busy
area and running a red light.

In the span of 3 miles on Monday , a BMW driver:
Cut me off as I dro ve through a green light
Got cut off driving through the next green light (Karma , thy name is Lexus )
Blatantly ran a red light
Sped through an active school zone

I like to take pics of cars that do stuff like that if i have a chance. I think my dash cam missed their shenanigans though unfortunately

I finally bought one last week but I’m waiting for a new power connection to come in before I install it, sadly.

I like mine a lot. The rear one is giving me problems, but I think it's just the memory card.

I want a centralized, DVR-based system like this one so I can tuck it under my dash (security and water-proofing), but I keep hoping I’ll find a better one or they’ll release an update.

That’s pretty cool!
My dream setup would be just like that, but with the added capability of automatically transmitting video to a cloud if there’s an event while driving or while parked. It could also act as the ultimate lojack, feeding live video and GPS to the owner if the car is moved or disturbed. But I imagine that would be difficult to incorporate or too expensive.
Edit: I guess that exists to a degree: https://www.blackvue.com/blackvue-over-the-cloud/
The dual lens setup is 500 bucks. Ouch.

Yeah, I came up with my dream security system and every now and then I think I might try to implement it, but then I remember I’m lazy and broke.
I did just install a Spot Trace , so hopefully if it’s ever stolen I’ll have a shot at recovery.

That looks cool. I'll have to buy a few I think.

The one downside, I’ve come to realize, is that the interval for updates is too long if the final destination is in a crowded area and the thieves are smart enough to either disable the tracker or pull into a building that blocks the device.
The base service maxes out at 5 minute intervals , and you can cover a lot of ground in 5 minutes.
Depending on my paranoia level, I may pay for the additional service that gives you 2.5 minute updates, and if I find myself even more paranoid, add LoJack as well. I doubt I’ll ever reach that point, however.
Finding a good spot for the Spot is tricky too. Being under metal makes it hard for it to acquire satellites and communicate, possibly shortening the battery life, reducing the accuracy, or preventing it from phoning home.
Anyway, there’s no silver bullet, but I think it’s a reasonable investment.
